Just another day in MaineThe juxtaposition in landscapes that makes up Mount Desert Island in Maine is amazing. On the one hand you have the amazing coastline that completely surrounds the Island. Then you have the quaint fishing villages, Bar Harbor being one that dot the shoreline. In the middle is Acadia National Forest, which in October when we visited is absolutely beautiful with vibrant foliage. Just outside of Bar Harbor the road is lined with huge old mansions originally built at the turn of the century by the very rich that used to escape the long hot summers of New York and Boston. Well worth the long drive this island will not disappoint!
